SOME PUBLISHED HORRORS AND HOWLERS THAT I HAVE SEEN RECENTLY:-
1
"Tomorrow is St George's Day. And, thinks being a bit up the creek, no double ministers will return to their theme of defining Britishness..."
"thinks" should be THINGS; "double" should be DOUBT.
2
"I am every so sorry but Mrs Twiddle never touches soups."
"every" should be EVER.
3
"Although it is still regarded with septicism is some quarters, many people found have acupuncture to work where conventional medicine has faled."
"septicism" should be SCEPTICISM; "is" should be IN; "found have" should be HAVE FOUND; "faled" should be FAILED.
4
" 'I understand' percy's smile took on a predatory aspect. 'You have a sentimental atachment'."
There should be a full stop after "understand"; "percy" should have a capital P; there should be 2 ts in "attachment"; the full stop should follow immediately after the word "attachment", before the quotation mark.
